5,500 candidates are invited by Canada in today’s Express Entry draw; 1st Express Entry draw for 2023

Today, Jan 11th, 2023, Canada has announced its recent Express Entry draw with a score of 507. A total of 5,500 invites were issued to all the eligible candidates.

Since July 6th, 2022, this is the twelfth all-program draw which Canada has announced, with no specific program being mentioned.

With the cut-off score of 507, IRCC has invited a total of 5,500 candidates. Since this draw was not program-specific, the invites were sent to all the candidates who were eligible for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) under Express Entry.

With this draw, the score has been increased significantly. The tie-breaking rule for this draw was implemented for December 06, 2022. Although, this was no decrease noticed in the score, still it is a relief for many who were expecting an invite in this draw. This is apparently the 1st draw of this year, 2023. With this regularity in the draws resumed since July 6th, 2022, it could be estimated that the next draw will take place on January 25th, 2023.

These all-program specific draws were on pause from Dec 2020 because of an enormous number of applications being submitted. As the number of applications kept on surging, but not being processed on time due to covid-19 and therefore, the backlog reached the peak. It is articulated that there might be an increase in the number of invitations to be sent for the next draw as well. In this seemingly post-pandemic world, year 2022 has been a very helpful for people who waited for more than a year for the draws to be resumed.

There is another estimate that with this new year, the program-specific draws might presume. However, it is completely dependent on what the backlog of applications would be.

However, with this regular fashion of draws, it is estimated that this pattern will remain the same in future as expected.
